DIVERSITY AND EQUALITY AT STOKE HIGH SCHOOL

We at Stoke High School – Ormiston Academy are committed to deliver on our duty as set out under the Equality Act 2010. At Stoke, we work hard to eliminate all forms of discrimination and encourage students and staff to embrace the diversity of the school community.

We work hard to give every child the same experience of school life, one which allows them to grow and develop and gain all the skills which open every door and every opportunity to them.

Our student population is hugely diverse, with non-British students accounting for almost half of our cohort. Twelve percent of our school population is made up of children with varying special educational needs

Pursuant to the Equality Act 2010, we aim to:

• Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and other conduct prohibited by the Act.

• Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.

• Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.
