Jill joined the Academy Board of Governors in December 2018. Jill worked as a Community Development Officer for Babergh District Council for many years and is a self-employed Manager of “Giving Young People A Voice”. She has worked with Stoke High School for over 10 years in a mentoring role and has also delivered various career orientated projects for the academy including the delivery of Chooseday Tuesday and Wednesday Working Lunch.
In 2013 Jill delivered the very successful WhoAsksUs project to students which was designed to bridge the gap between students, schools and employment by developing innovative pathways towards improved communication, higher achievement and aspirations. The project also challenged young people to be inspired, enthused and to aspire to be the best that they can be.
Jill is also the academy’s Careers Enterprise Adviser and is passionate about raising the aspirations of all young people especially those who are disadvantaged, and she has the belief that anything is possible if hearts and minds are engaged and encouraged.
In her role as Governor Jill will be linked to Students Personal Development and Enrichment.
