Stoke High School – Ormiston Academy is a fully inclusive school. We are committed to meeting the needs of all pupils including those with special educational needs.
There is a shared expectation that all students, regardless of their specific needs, should be offered inclusive teaching. Our aim is for all students to make the best possible progress in school, and to know that they are a valued member of the school community.
Early discussions with primary schools and parents allows us to prepare fully for year 6 students joining us and put in place the relevant strategies to ensure success. Teachers work collaboratively with our SEND team to put in place in-lesson provision and for smaller intervention approaches we have our SU Hub. This provides a place for mentoring, interventions, wellbeing support, and social integration work to take place. Full details of our local offer, our approaches and useful contacts can be found in our SEND Information Report.
