It has been announced by the DfE that if a student misses all GCSE assessments in a subject due to sickness related to coronavirus or the need to self-isolate, they will be eligible to sit a single contingency paper. This will take place between 28 June and 16 July 2021 and is timetabled to allow at least a 10-day gap after each subject’s final paper in the main series. Students should therefore be available for these two weeks after the end of the GCSE period, should this be required.
We are therefore recommending that holidays are not taken until after this date, irrespective of when your son/daughter’s last timetabled examination is scheduled for.
Should you have any questions regarding your son/daughter’s upcoming GCSE examinations, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Farthing in the exams office.
